Blessing After Blessing

Hebrews 6:13-14

For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

I get so tired of hearing the skeptics and the doubters talk about how that God wants His people to barely get by. For some unknown reason to me, they cannot find it in themselves to believe that God is not only good, but that He delights in blessing His children.

The devil has really done a snow job on some people. He has them thinking of God as a mean old miser who has plenty, but is not willing to share it with anyone unless He absolutely has to. If that is the case, there would be no blessing from God at all, because He doesn’t have to do anything that He doesn’t want to.

The very fact that we are His children is evidence that He wants to bless us. We could never be called the Children of God without Him first blessing us with the gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus. What greater blessing could there be than to be called a child of God? Obviously, there is none greater. Now if God was not willing to hold out on the best blessing, why would He hold out on the others? It just doesn’t make any sense to believe that.

The truth of the matter is that God blessed us with salvation so that He could bestow upon us all the other blessings that He wants us to have. A person has to really want to miss this truth to miss it. The Bible makes it so very clear, God is a blessing God, it is His nature to bless and to give.

Don’t be like so many others who believe that God blesses us with eternal life, but then holds out on the other things so that he can teach us lessons on being humble and grateful, giving us just enough to get by, but never any extra. That is just junk. God is loving and extravagant with His children. He says that blessing will come upon us and overtake us. Believe that and expect great blessings.

MY WORD CONFESSION: God is a wonderful Father who pours out His blessings in abundance on His children, which includes me.
