Take A Step Out

Revelation 3:8

I know thy works: behold, I have put before thee an open door and no man can shut it…

Sometimes God will try speaking to you about making a change in your life. Perhaps it might be a new location, a new job, a new phase of ministry, or some other thing that He wants to lead you into. You want what God wants for your life, but you are afraid to step out into something new and different. It is easy to get satisfied and become comfortable in your present situations and not be willing to step out into something different.

I want to encourage you to not be afraid to step out and try out new things. Even if you make a mistake, it won’t be the end of the world. God is faithful and will guide the sincere person in the direction that He wants them to go. Don’t end up looking back at your life wishing that you had tried some different things, or had done things differently in your life.

I have seen people who have ended up wondering all their lives what things would have been like if they had stepped out, followed God and done some things differently. Not following God’s leading can result in a very lonely and miserable life. Sure, you may have some trying times and you may not enjoy everything that you try, but at least you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you gave it your best shot.

You are not going to be able to do everything, but step out in God’s timing into the things that you feel God is leading you into. Go on through doors that He is opening and try doors that were previously closed to see if they are open now. You may have to take a few steps in a certain direction before you know if the doors are open or closed. It may be that you have some direction from God, but you don’t see the whole picture. Remember, God leads step by step. You may never know step two until you take step one. Go ahead, step out.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I will step out in the direction that I feel God leading me and will trust Him to open and close doors for me.
