My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea. I will be their God and they shall be My people.
Since the very time of creation, God has been the initiator of the relationship between Himself and man. He has always desired to bless His creation with a relationship with Himself.
If you will notice throughout the Bible, it was always God who came to man and man who rejected God. You would think that it would be the other way around, that the sinless, perfect and holy God would reject sinful man, but it was and is not so.
For example, when Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God, it was God who came to seek them and it was them who hid from God. Do you think that God did not know that they had sinned? Sure He knew, but He came to them anyway not to condemn them, but to cover their sin.
If you will notice, when God delivered Israel out of Egypt, He came down to speak to the multitudes of people. When He began speaking, the people covered their ears and ran. They begged Moses to go hear God for them, they did not want to hear Him for themselves.
Do these two examples not sound like so many of us today? When God wants to come into our (His) churches, so often the majority of the people don’t want it. It upsets our status quo, it interrupts our schedules. Instead of running to God, who wants to bless us and enrich our lives, we either run from or try to hide from Him.
God is looking for a people that He can tabernacle, or live with. He is looking for a people who will be His. Today, make that choice to be a part of the people of God, let Him come into your life with fullness and freedom and be your God and the Lord of your life.
