Be A Blessing

Genesis 12:2

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.

Can I tell you something that is really exciting? God wants to bless you with all the good things that this life has to offer. I know that sticks in the crop of many in the Christian world. For some reason, totally unknown to me, we have been brought up to think that God wants to keep us poor and broke all the time. It goes back to the idea that being poor will keep us humble. That isn’t true, some of the proudest people that I have ever known were poor. Poverty does not make one humble, it only makes them broke. Humility is an attitude of the heart and a choice of the will.

I am constantly amazed at the idea that all the good here on the earth is not for the children of of God to enjoy and take advantage of. Do you really think that God put all this abundance in the earth for the devil and his crowd to use? I can tell you that He certainly did not. The Bible says that the earth and all the fullness of it, the gold and all the silver belong to God. If this is the case, and it is, then it is also the property of the Children of God. Don’t let the devil and the misinformed of the family of Christ lead you astray. They will steal your part of the fullness of this earth, the part that God wants you to have if you let them.

Now why would God want to give this all to you and to me? Well there are at least two reasons. First, God is a loving Father and we all know that loving fathers give the best that they have to their children. The second, and very important reason that God wants to bless you is that He wants to use you to reveal His love and nature to the rest of the world. He wants you to be blessed abundantly so that you can be a vessel of His blessing to others. He wants to bless you and to make you a blessing. If you remember, God told Abraham that He would bless him and would make him a blessing to the world. He did just that. He is still blessing the world through Abraham because Jesus came through the seed of Abraham. Be a blessing to others and God will get that abundant blessing to you, it is His will.

MY WORD CONFESSION: God is blessing me, and as I am blessed, I will be a blessing to others also.
