i am persuaded

II Timothy 1:12

Nevertheless I am not ashamed for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.

Have you discovered the secret and confidence that Paul the apostle had in Christ? Paul had committed his whole life and future to the Lord Jesus Christ. You have to understand that before he was Paul the Apostle, he was Saul of Tarsus. As Saul, he was very educated and very secure in his position as one of the leaders in the Jewish faith. A member of the Sanhedrin, the supreme court of the land, he was an expert in Jewish law. If any man was secure in his natural self and life, Saul was. Something drastic happened to change his mind, he met Jesus of Nazareth and his whole life and focus changed.

No longer was he Saul the persecutor of the Christian, now he was Paul, a Christian among Christians. His zeal for this new life that he had received and his love for the Savior who had given it to him is what motivated him to say what he said in this scripture. He was confident of the fact that if God could love him enough to save him after all he had done to antagonize the church and to defame the name of Jesus, that He would surely keep him in this life and the next.

You know, God is really like that even today. He is trustworthy and faithful to all who will trust Him to be. You can be assured that when you give your life to him, He will not only take care of your future by reserving you a special place in His heaven, but will also keep you safe and prosperous here on this earth. You can trust Him to keep you, your family and all that you commit to Him in this life and the life to come. Praise the Lord.

MY WORD CONFESSION: I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.
