watch what you say

Psalm 141:3

Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

We all need to keep this prayer of David ever before us in our own day to day lives. It is evident that David knew the secret of the power of spoken words and realized that it was extremely important to watch what you say. So much so, that he invoked the power of God to give him help in this area.

Have you also learned how important it is to watch what you say? I am constantly amazed at the wisdom of the Old Testament saints. God was putting into their spirits the truth of His word and the wisdom of His ways.

It is of utmost importance to you and to me to pray this prayer and to be aware of the words that we speak. By our own words, we either build up and bless or we tear down and curse. The Scripture tells us that we are snared by the words of our mouth. (Proverbs 6:2)

If the Bible is true, and we all know that it is, then we need to heed its instructions as to our mouths and the words that we speak. Faith filled words will empower and engage the angels of God to minister to you and for you. They will release your angels to go out and do battle on your behalf. I believe that your angels are commissioned to you by God and are instructed to do as you bid them. According to Hebrews 1:14 the angels are sent to minister for us, the heirs of salvation. As you speak, so the angels move to help accomplish the words of you confession.

On the other hand, words of fear, doubt and unbelief hinder and bind the angels, who are charged with energy to minister for you, but are frustrated because you will not let them go, will not send them out. Your words have snared you and you will suffer loss for it.

Today set a guard about your mouth. Watch what you say.

MY WORD CONFESSION: O Lord thou hast set a guard about my mouth so that I speak only faith filled words. Amen.
